History AutoCAD was originally developed at Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) by Steve Rodger, Doug Taylor, and Jim Manyika for Autodesk. The first commercial release of AutoCAD was in November 1983 as AutoCAD 1.0 and was initially available only for the Apple II. After its initial release, version 1.0 was extended with many enhancements and additional commands and became version 1.5. AutoCAD was re-released in July 1984 for the Apple II Plus. In October 1984, version 2.0 was introduced as AutoCAD for the IBM PC. To ease learning the new software, the company included a user guide and tutorial in the box. This tutorial was expanded into a fully functional “Getting Started” manual later that year. AutoCAD for the IBM PC was also released for the IBM PC/XT and IBM PC/AT. The first release for these platforms featured a 640 × 480 pixel graphic mode. AutoCAD went into mass production for the PC platform with the release of AutoCAD in December 1984. The earliest PCs were the Commodore PET and the Atari 8-bit family of computers. With the introduction of the Apple Macintosh in January 1984, AutoCAD reached a wider audience and by the end of the decade was used in over 40% of the engineering departments in the world. The first release for the Macintosh was AutoCAD in November 1984. It initially supported the Apple LaserWriter, a laser printer released by Apple in 1983. In January 1985, it began supporting the Xerox 9700, Xerox’s first commercial line of page printers. With the release of AutoCAD for the IBM PC in October 1984, AutoCAD became the first commercially available CAD program for IBM PC platform. Within five years, the license fee for AutoCAD had become the single most significant driver of sales. It was second only to the Apple II, which was used to develop games in the 1980s. By the end of the decade, over half of the 8,000-user survey had AutoCAD. In 1986, AutoCAD continued to expand its lineup of tools. It included the addition of the AutoCAD LightScribe and AutoCAD Graphic Software for Macintosh. The LightScribe was the first raster-based, non-impact printer ever made, and it had no toner cartridge. The Graphic Software was introduced for the first time on the Macintosh to address

Police responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of St Louis and Julia Streets in St Louis. When officers arrived, they found 22-year-old Jason Casper with gunshot wounds to the shoulder, chest and hand, St Louis Public Radio reported. Casper told police he was shot by another man. Police said that suspect fled and has yet to be apprehended. Casper is listed as a student at the University of Missouri in Columbia, a spokesperson said. The use of kynurenic acid for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. To determine whether kynurenic acid (KYNA) might be useful in the treatment of multiple sclerosis. We searched MEDLINE and EMBASE (1966-2000) for randomized trials of KYNA in multiple sclerosis and published abstracts of relevant meetings. We also asked authors, contacted colleagues, and conducted trials by hand. We screened of 818 abstracts for those of relevance, leaving 21 articles for the full text review. We selected seven randomized, controlled, double-blind, multi-center trials for a qualitative systematic review. KYNA was tested in two of the seven trials; all the other trials were reported by single centers. Four trials demonstrated that KYNA was safe and well tolerated in normal subjects. One controlled trial of KYNA (in conjunction with sodium valproate) in 33 patients with multiple sclerosis demonstrated statistically significant increases in the Expanded Disability Status Scale score at 6 months compared with placebo. One trial, in 27 patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis, did not demonstrate any significant clinical or MRI changes. In the other four trials, data were not yet available for assessment. KYNA was as effective as amantadine or dextromethorphan in a trial of 20 patients with multiple sclerosis. KYNA is safe and well tolerated in normal volunteers. One controlled trial has demonstrated a significant increase in the Expanded Disability Status Scale score at 6 months in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis receiving KYNA in conjunction with sodium valproate compared with placebo. This study was well done and the results are significant. In addition, it was the first trial of this kind
